My default browser is Firefox. The lotro launcher ignores my default and opens stuff in Internet Explorer. Internet Explorer is a piece of poo that takes 10 times longer to load a page than Firefox does, AND it refuses to close until it has loaded the page.

I have come to dread the times where I accidentally click the wrong spot (such as on the clicky-pictures - Seriously, haven't you guys heard of buttons? Why does the whole picture have to be a clickable link?!) and have to wait around for IE to finish.
